The main legislative focus is on deciding whether the topic of nuclear energy warrants further consideration, which necessitates the establishment of a regulator. The speaker strongly supports this procedural step, which will provide the opportunity to definitively determine whether Estonia requires nuclear energy.

The focus is procedural (requesting a recess), not the substantive initiation or support of specific legislative bills. The purpose is to ensure the parliamentary group has the necessary time to discuss an issue that has arisen during the legislative process.

The legislative focus is currently directed towards the successful management and implementation of the biggest education reform in Estonia’s history—the transition to Estonian-language education. Priorities also include changing the basic school graduation requirements and developing a career and salary model for teachers, decisions regarding which must be adopted by the Riigikogu.
