The legislative focus is currently directed toward reviewing the decision to ratify a previous international agreement (the Ottawa Convention). The speaker is initiating a debate on whether Estonia should revise its commitments in light of the changed security environment.

The legislative focus is on opposing the motor vehicle tax bill, acting as a strong opponent to it. The speaker submitted substantive amendments, including a proposal to direct all tax revenue to the defense budget, which the coalition either rejected or procedurally tied up. Significant attention is also being paid to criticizing the violation of the Riigikogu Rules of Procedure and Internal Rules Act.

The legislative focus is on restricting exceptions to the immigration quota in order to steer the economy toward higher-skilled labor. Emphasis is also placed on the necessity of maintaining and enforcing Estonia’s domestic penal code to combat transnational crimes, such as child pornography.
