The main opponents are the government coalition parties (the Reform Party, Estonia 200, the Social Democrats), who are sharply criticized for their failed tax policy and declining approval ratings. The criticism is policy-based, accusing the coalition of taking money away from families and driving the country into poverty through tax hikes. Compromise is ruled out regarding the motor vehicle tax, the abolition of which is demanded as a precondition.
