The speaker stresses the importance of cooperation with the government regarding the renewal of security policy fundamentals, as well as international openness. Opportunities for collaboration are being broadened by involving businesses from OECD countries (such as Australia and Japan), in addition to NATO and EU member states.

The cooperation style is very open and consensus-based, emphasizing the unanimous procedural decisions of the National Defence Committee. Separately highlighted is the close collaboration with the Foreign Affairs Committee during the field session held at the Defence Forces Headquarters. Direct consultation with Defence Minister Pevkur and ministry officials is also mentioned.

The speaker is collaborative, publicly thanking the former and current chairman of ELAK for their comprehensive and substantive cooperation in handling European Union policy. Strong regional cooperation among the Baltic states (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia) is also emphasized, which led to them obtaining important portfolios in the new European Commission.
