The political focus is directed towards national security and the protection of critical infrastructure, particularly in connection with the damage to the Estlink 2 cable. It strongly supports legislative measures that increase deterrence (a financial penalty of up to 4 billion euros) and expand Estonian jurisdiction for acts committed in international waters. The need to ensure the protection of ordinary citizens' rights through judicial oversight when expanding surveillance activities is also emphasized.
