The speaker adopts a highly cooperative approach, working closely with Ministry of the Interior officials and involving relevant interest groups (the Hunters’ Society, the Arms Owners’ Union) in the committee discussions. He/She demonstrated a willingness to compromise regarding the state fees for firearms permits, which resulted in a consensual amendment proposal from the committee. He/She acknowledges the government’s efforts in strengthening national defense and calls upon the international community to show solidarity with Ukraine and the Crimean Tatars.
