The regional focus is strongly international, concentrating on European security, the war in Ukraine, and transatlantic relations. Special emphasis is placed on the pivotal importance of cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic countries in the context of NATO enlargement (the accession of Finland and Sweden). Furthermore, developing ties with Asia is crucial, as confirmed by the Foreign Affairs Committee's visit to Taiwan and planned visits to Japan and South Korea.
