The political focus is on increasing the security of scientific careers in Estonia and preventing the departure of researchers, given that the profession of a scientist is currently unpopular. The strategic importance of data management and cross-usage at the national level is also emphasized to prevent the fragmentation of data silos. The approach is policy-based, supporting the TAIKS initiative but raising critical questions regarding its long-term impact.
