Economic perspectives emphasize the need to drastically increase defense spending (to 4–4.5% of GDP) to ensure security. Simultaneously, the sustainability of subsidized energy production and the CO2 quota system is called into question given the context of such high national defense expenditures. Fiscal discipline focused on guaranteeing security is prioritized.
