Significant additional funding is supported to ensure the sustainability of expensive specialties like veterinary education, given that the current 350,000 euros covers only half of the required clinical training costs. Budgetary solutions are criticized for being, in financial terms, merely a reallocation of existing funds. It is pointed out that animals lack a national health insurance system, which makes veterinary services costly for owners, and pet insurance remains uncommon.
