The primary social issue is religious freedom, which the speaker confirms is guaranteed and protected in Estonia. However, it is stressed that religious freedom does not imply that the state must accept the ideological influence of a hostile foreign state on the religious freedom of its citizens or on national security. The aim of the draft bill is to ensure the church's freedom from detrimental foreign influence.
